The department deals with all questions about mobility, campus renovation, building status and ecology at the RUB. We maintain extensive contacts with all institutions and companies that are involved in shaping the campus directly or indirectly. We are committed to barrier-free access and cooperate with the committees of the student body and the RUB with the aim of a completely barrier-free campus.

As a department, we accompany the campus renovation with regard to the needs of the student body as well as sustainability. We are also monitoring the expansion and progress of the “metropolradruhr” project.

One focus of our work is the area of ”mobility”. We would like to improve the traffic situation at the university and try to help you in the best possible way with any problems that arise.

We are in contact with the transport companies as well as the university administration and strive to improve the connection to the Ruhr University with public transport and bicycles, especially the situation in and around the campus line U35.

Your questions about the semester ticket, clarification of problems with transport companies and the support of the pre-course ticket for freshmen are also part of our area of responsibility.

The current AStA has also given the field of “ecology” a new dimension.

Projects such as food sharing are intended to set an example for sustainability and thus counteract food waste. Every student has the opportunity to donate food that he or she no longer uses, and to take advantage of the food on offer in the cupboard of the student house.

One of the general objectives of the unit is to create ecological awareness at the RUB. We invite all students to participate and to get involved at RUB for sustainability in order to give the ideal a certain pragmatism and practice.

In the “Infrastructure” area, we are actively involved in the renovation of the campus and are committed to improving the living conditions for the student body. We are in contact with the responsible bodies.

If you have any questions or suggestions on the topics of ecology, mobility and infrastructure at RUB, we are always ready to listen to you.

Important questions about Corona and Infrastructure:

1) Do I have to pay the amount included in the semester fee for the semester ticket for a semester with no classroom teaching?

YES. After consultation with the Bogestra and the VRR, it is not possible not to pay or reimburse the fee due to the failure of classroom teaching, as the semester ticket is based on special discounted conditions and the principle of solidarity. In addition, there are no restrictions on public transport, which means you can also use the ticket this semester for shopping or commuting to work, for example.

2) What happens if another hacker attack or other event prevents access to the digital ticket?

In such a case, if possible, show another document that can prove your current student status or, if necessary, your student ID. If you have received a parking ticket, pay it first and please contact the Infra department (via verkehr@asta-bochum.de).

You can contact us at any time if you have any further concerns or questions!
