It is now possible to receive the Deutschland-Semesterticket as a chip card (DS chip card) for certain groups of people. A deposit must be paid for the chip card.

Who is authorized?

Students who are not able to access the Deutschland-Semesterticket in digital form via the RIDE-Campus due to a proven impairment in accordance with the law on severely disabled persons

• The impairment can be proven by the characteristics B, TBL, H or BL in an ID card issued by a recognized authority (pension office, authority responsible under state law, employers’ liability insurance association, landscape association, authority of the Federal Armed Forces Administration or other authority (e.g. military district fee office))
• if none of the characteristics are entered, but there is another illness that excludes the use of the RIDE Campus (e.g. certified smartphone addiction that excludes the use of a mobile device for therapeutic purposes), there is the possibility of a hardship assessment in individual cases by submitting meaningful documents

Students who cannot access the digital semester ticket due to social hardship

• Semester fee was paid in whole or in part by the AStA and do not have a mobile device on which the digital semester ticket can be accessed
• Receiving support from other social measures of the AStA (this includes in particular the “Mensafreitische” program)

How do I get the chip card?

The chip card must be applied for. A deposit of 10 euros must be paid.

What happens after the application?

After the respective application has been checked, applicants will receive confirmation. After confirmation of the application, a deposit of 10 euros must be paid at the AStA secretariat. For this purpose, it is necessary to fill out and sign the agreement on the transfer of a cash deposit and submit it to the secretariat. Once the deposit has been successfully submitted, the chip card will be ordered from Bogestra. The chip card can then be collected after approx. 72 hours from the BOGESTRA head office, Universitätsstraße 58, 44789 Bochum, on presentation of a photo ID.
